The Man Who Controls the Traffic Lights

In the vast urban expanse, there is one person with absolute power over movement. A man called Herbert. Whilst controlling the traffic lights and the lives of billions of people, he begins to observe one person in particular: a young man called Obyn, who is interested in birds and is about to cross the threshold into a new world. The Controller lures this young man and other unsuspecting individuals into his absolute dominion, wielding supernatural powers from his control room; ultimately, he brings about a catastrophe to further his own ends. Alone in his room, the Controller intertwines his life with that of everyone else. When the forces of freedom and control clash, which of them prevails?
