A documentary that follows the musical explosion of over a hundred young musicians against the backdrop of a Barcelona that has survived, both today and in the past. An ensemble portrait of what it means to be a musician in a city that seems on the verge of losing everything. 2012 in Barcelona: the economic crisis is taking its toll and protests on the streets are mounting. Meanwhile, at Barcelona’s legendary Jamboree Jazz Club, young people are resisting despair. They are a cry for life. They improvise at the WTF Jam Sessions with their jazz, electronic and hip-hop rhythms. But the crisis catches up with them; perhaps next week they won’t open. The octogenarian pianist Pere Ferré isn’t surprised; he’s seen many venues open and close. Together with the American Wally Besser, they are the only survivors of the Jamboree’s first band from 1949. With them, we take a journey back to Barcelona under Franco, when jazz was seen as something demonic and perverse.
